Aerial Dance Chicago
Aerial Dance Chicago is a non-profit dance company that specializes in the creation, performance and instruction of aerial dance technique. The company uses a variety of apparatus such as suspended fabrics, bungee cords, swings and ropes. Because of their specific spacial needs, they came to us wanting an open floor plan with high ceilings and easy access to structural elements of the ceiling to support their rigging. The team at Aerial Dance recalled, “We shared our vision with Lichter, and they listened and considered how they might be able to complete the space in a way that enabled our work.”
When they began hunting for their next studio, Aerial Dance was looking for a space that was close to the expressway and was easily accessible by public transportation. They were also looking for a landlord who they felt confident could develop the vision for their studio. We knew we could provide them with the space they needed to meet their business needs.

This is not just a space for us; it is a home where our organization can grow and thrive.
Our first meeting went off without a hitch. The owners remember feeling extremely confident that we could bring to life the vision for their studio. The loft space we offered enabled them to set up rigging from the sturdy bow-truss ceilings, as well as, gain ample natural light from large windows across the main frontage of the building. Hard wood floors offered Aerial Dance the opportunity to cover some areas that required mats during class.
Developing strong trust and communication with a tenant is key. We give each of our tenants the personalized attention and detail that is required when delivering a space or a lease. With Aerial Dance, we developed a strong partnership in order to understand, and ultimately deliver on, the needs of their growing business.
It’s important to us to be dealing with people we can trust, and we feel that with Lichter.
